Japanese engineers unveil baby robot for childless couples

The Kirobo Mini was introduced to cast away any presumed sad emotions in a childless marriage and for couples who don't want a real baby, the inventors say. The baby doll/robot's primary aim is to “invoke an emotional connection” in relationships. It was developed by Toyota’s non-automotive department in Japan.
Chief engineer of the product, Fuminori Kataoka, said on Monday:
"He wobbles a bit, and this is meant to emulate a seated baby which hasn’t fully developed the skills to balance itself.

"This vulnerability is meant to invoke an emotional connection."
For pricing, the baby robot will set you back $300 aka 140,000 naira - using current exchange rates. The robot offers reactions to certain talks, emotions and behaviour.
