An attack at a beach restaurant in Somalia has been claimed by the
terror group, Al-Shabaab. Reports say Al-Shabaab fighters detonated a
car bomb at the restaurant in the capital of Mogadishu before engaging
security forces in a gunfight.
As at the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation of casualty figures and other details of the attack remain unknown. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack as its spokesperson, Abdiasis Abu Musab told Reuters, “We attacked the Banadir beach restaurant and now our fighters are fighting inside it,”
It is the latest attack by the group in Somalia and it comes just days after an attack on a Local Government headquarters left at least twenty people dead on Sunday.
