Viral Pest Causes Dangote's Tomato Paste Company To Shut Down

The Dangote Tomato Processing Factory in Kadawa, Kano State has stopped operations following the shortage of raw tomato supply which was caused by a pest called “Tuta Absoluta”or "Tomato Ebola".

 

Managing director of Dangote Tomato Processing, Abdulkadir Kaita said the pest attacked thousands of hectares of tomato farmland in Plataue, Kastina, Kaduna, Jigawa and Kano states.
