The anti-narcotics cell (ANC) of the city crime branch on Monday May 9, arrested a
Nigerian man from Krushna Bazaar chowk in Sangvi, India for allegedly
possessing Hashish (marijuana) worth Rs 1.95 lakh. A
team headed by police inspector Shrikant Navale and assistant inspector
Ajay Waghmare arrested Onyekachi Namika Uchenna (26), currently staying
at Masjid Bundar in Mumbai.
The ANC team which was patrolling on Friday night became suspicious of
Uchena's presence at Krushan Bazaar chowk and decided to question him.
He was detained and Hashish was recovered from him during frisking.
A case against Uchenna has been filed with the Sangvi police station. It was revealed during the investigation that Uchenna came to India two and a half years ago.
However, it was not known what type of visa he used to come to India. He told the police that he bought the Hashish from Delhi.
Police also found during investigation that he was not carrying any cash or a valid passport on him.
