police say the man killed in a Corktown shooting Saturday morning was
attending a memorial for a friend who was himself fatally shot last
month.
Police were called to a Shell gas station parking lot at Parliament St. and Richmond St. E. just after 2 a.m. Saturday after reports of gunshots.
They arrived to find the victim, whom police identified Sunday as 27-year-old Julian Weekes, “clinging to life,” suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Life-saving efforts were made by paramedics, but he was subsequently pronounced dead on scene.
