Double Tragedy: Man Shot Dead At Burial Of Friend Who Was Shot Dead Last Month

Toronto police say the man killed in a Corktown shooting Saturday morning was attending a memorial for a friend who was himself fatally shot last month.

Police were called to a Shell gas station parking lot at Parliament St. and Richmond St. E. just after 2 a.m. Saturday after reports of gunshots.

They arrived to find the victim, whom police identified Sunday as 27-year-old Julian Weekes, “clinging to life,” suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Life-saving efforts were made by paramedics, but he was subsequently pronounced dead on scene.
