In a bid to fight the terrorists an eye for an eye, the Nigerian Army
has launched a special unit which operates with special motor bikes.
Boko Haram terrorists are known for usually attacking villages and then
escaping into Sambiasa Forest via bikes. Plenty of the time, soldiers
find it hard to chase after the sect following the terrain of the area
which makes traveling by bike easier.
Inducting the combat
motorbike unit, the Chief of Army Staff stated that the battalion will
serve as a force multiplier in the clearance operations of remnants of
Boko Haram terrorists. He stated further that with the induction of the
unit, troops presence will be available along the roads thus keeping the
roads open and safe.
