A heart-broken woman has revealed how she went out on a mission to find her missing husband using a tracing app only to discover he'd been shot dead with a single bullet wound.
Worried wife Carla Melendez used the 'Find My iPhone' app to look for him after he didn't come home.
But her fears turned to horror after she found her 23-year-old high school sweetheart Ramiro Acosta lying dead at the side of a road.
Ms Melendez went on a desperate search for Ramiro after the phone indicated that he was somewhere in woodland near Turkey Drive in North Harris County, Texas.
The confusing signal prompted her take the 30 minute drive from their house.
But when she finally arrived at the spot she was frantic when she found him with a single shot to the torso and lifeless.
In a tearful interview with ABC 13 Eyewitness News she said: "It showed trees and it was weird because why would his phone be by trees?
"It was there for a while.
"I just wanted him to wake up.
"Lord knows how long he had been laying there. "
While police are currently investigating the incident, they have not arrested anyone in connection with the shooting.
Though she did admit that her husband may have had enemies and was a member of a gang.
