Arrested Mexican Drug Lord El Chapo Wanted To Buy A Top-flight English Club (Guess Which One?)

In a shocking revelation, it has been suggested that the world’s biggest drug trafficker Joaquin – El Chapo – Guzman was interested in buying Chelsea FC of England. Metro UK cites Spanish publication Sport who inform that the underworld kingpin wanted to combine his passions for football and entrepreneurship by acquiring the club.

Unconfirmed reports claim El Chapo is worth as much as €1 billion and is a big fan of the Mexican team Gaza Puebla.

Chelsea are owned by Russian billionaire who bought the club in June 2003 from Ken Bates.

The Mexican drug lord was re-arrested last week after managing to escape from prison in May 2015 through a mile-long tunnel despite being monitored 24 hours a day by security cameras.
