Governor Willie Obiano, the "silent achiever" of Anambra State. |
Earlier this week, hundreds of Shi'ite muslims were killed by the Nigerian army in Zaria, Kaduna. The Chief Of Army Staff alleged that the sect had attacked his convoy leading to a "reprisal" attack. Shortly after the world spoke out in anger over the indiscriminate killings, an entourage of dignitaries led by Kaduna State governor Mallam El Rufai visited the leader of the group Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky in his residence.
Now, only yesterday, 10 members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra were killed at River Niger Head Bridge, Onitsha, Anambra with over 50 wounded casualties recorded as they celebrated the release of their leader and Radio Biafra director Nnamdi Kanu.
The joint task force of Nigerian Army, Nigeria Navy and Nigerian Police did not stop at that. They went ahead to locate the injured at their various hospitals, taking them away to an unknown location. Just like recent, similar atrocities committed against the people agitating for the independence of Biafra, no official statement, public or private, has been heard about the incident since then.
According to the dictionary, a genocide is
the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation. So we ask: How can a state governor keep shut while the citizens of his state are murdered in genocide? How can Governor Obiano of Anambra State keep shut while the people that voted him are killed in cold blood.
Obiano, does he have children, wards, or relations? |
Governor Obiano, when are you finally going to speak against, in condemnation, or even in support of the continuous massacre of the innocent Anambra people?
