Thierry Henry has named Steven Gerrad and Paul Scholes, formerly of Liverpool and Manchester United respectively as two of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
The Frenchman however says Scholes just pips Gerrard as the midfielder he wished he played professional football with.
Asked on Monday Night Football (MNL) to name which player, past or present, he would most have liked to line up next to, Henry plainly said “Paul Scholes” but adds that Gerrard will just come after the former Manchester United midfielder.
