The victims were rushed to Fujairah
Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. Their bodies were
later shifted to the forensic laboratory for a post-mortem and will be
handed over later to their family for burial.
"The tragedy is that they died in their attempts to rescue each other," Lieutenant Colonel Dr Saeed Al Hassani, acting director of Media and Public Relations Department in Fujairah Police, told Gulf News,Commenting on Saturday’s incident, Mohammad Saif Al Afkham, director- general of Fujairah Municipality, said the municipality had nothing to do with this incident.
"It happened due to a lack of awareness. People need to be more educated about the risk of using such chemical substances," he said
